Built around 1902 for educator Edward Sams, the Sams-Jones House reflects a time when education was helping shape Cary’s identity. Sams came to Cary as principal of Cary High School as the community was on its way to becoming home to North Carolina’s first public high school.
Over the generations, the house became home to Cary families and, like so many of the town’s historic places, eventually found a new purpose. Today, this distinctive downtown landmark continues its story as home to a local business.
